When it comes to CBD, there are a large variety of products to choose from which can make finding the right product for your individual needs difficult. That is why K’dara CBD has put together a beginner’s guide to CBD products, including what they are and how to use them.
CBD Oils & Tinctures
CBD oils and tinctures are by far the most popular and well-known of all the CBD products. Oils and tinctures typically contain a concentrated form of full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD extract, or they can be made from a CBD isolate or nano-amplified CBD. The concentrated CBD extract is then diluted with a carrier oil such as MCT oil or hemp seed oil to produce different CBD concentrations or ratios.
CBD oils and tinctures usually come in a dropper bottle with the serving size printed on the dropper. They can also come in spray bottles that can be easier to use for children, people who have physical limitations or those with difficulties swallowing.
How to Use It: Sublingual Administration
Place a few drops or spray a dosage of CBD under the tongue and hold it for 30 to 60 seconds.
CBD Gel Capsules
CBD gel capsules contain a dosage of CBD oil in a gel cap. CBD gel capsules come in a range of strengths and sizes and are a good option for people who want a precision dose of CBD. CBD gel capsules are also discreet, flavorless and easy to swallow, making them ideal for children, the elderly, or people who don’t like the taste of CBD oil.
How to Use It: Oral Administration
Simply swallow a capsule with water.
Edibles are a fun and discreet way to consume CBD, and are extremely popular with the millennial generation. CBD edibles are made by adding a CBD isolate, or sometimes a CBD oil or tincture, to a food product. Popular edibles include gummies, lollipops and baked goods.
How to Use It: Oral Administration:
Carefully read the recommended dosage information on the packaging and enjoy!
With CBD topicals, the CBD is directly applied to the skin. These come in a variety of different types including creams, salves, balms and even transdermal patches. Because there are cannabinoid receptors in the skin, applying a CBD topical is an effective way of delivering CBD to a specific area, without it having to go through the rest of the body.
How to Use It: Topical Administration
Apply the CBD topical directly to the desired area and cover with a bandage, if necessary.
CBD Beauty Products
Similar to CBD topicals, CBD beauty products work by applying CBD’s potential restorative, antioxidant and calming properties directly to the skin. Believed benefits include reduced skin inflammation, sun damage and wrinkles. Because of this, CBD is becoming an increasingly popular ingredient in beauty products, like skin cleansers, toners, moisturizers and even bath bombs.
How to Use It: Topical Administration
Apply the product directly to the skin or use as directed.
CBD Vaporizing Products & Concentrates
Vaping is a popular way of using CBD and can be found in a variety of flavors and concentrations. Dab rigs are also often used for dabbing with CBD concentrates and come in a variety of forms. These include CBD hash, wax, dabs, and oils. Vaping and dabbing have their roots in cannabis culture, and the CBD community is embracing this form because the CBD enters the bloodstream directly via the lungs, making it an efficient and quick way to feel the effects.
How to Use It: Inhalation
When using vape cartridges, simply inhale the vapor from either a concentrate or “tank” style vaporizer. CBD cartridges can be either disposable or refillable and concentrates can be smoked, dabbed using a dab rig, or vaped using an appropriate vaporizer.
